OUR ACTIVITIES


Monthly Social
: A get together 4 - 6 times from September to June for dinner or lunch at a local restaurant, golf club or recreation centre for a snack or a meal, social discourse and possibly a speaker or presenter. Usually lasts a couple of hours.

Armchair Travel : A presentation of pictures with a discussion by a member on a place she has visited.(Currently suspended)

Art Workshop : An afternoon to work on a painting technique with other like minded friends. (Currently Suspended)

Book Club, Afternoon and Evening : An opportunity to select and read a variety of books, discuss them and vote on whether you liked or disliked the story.

Bridge, Afternoon and Evening : We have a number of bridge groups and the girls are always looking for new players as well as experienced players to participate on a regular basis or to fill in when a member has other commitments.

Cafe Franco : An opportunity to practice the French that you learned in school or while traveling with others in a similar situation. All levels are invited to participate.

Daytrippers : An excuse to explore some of the tourist attractions, museums or other spots around the area. Usually includes a luncheon and part of a day or all day.

Euchre : Come have fun and play with beginners and experienced euchre players alike!

Girls on the Loose : A chance to try a variety of different activities ranging from alternatives in health care, fashion, gambling, luncheon and even sporting activities that we may not try on our own. (Currently suspended)

Ladies Golf : We play nine holes of golf in a relaxing environment and meet for coffee and commiserate following the game from May through October; all levels are welcome.

Morning Get Together : Meet for breakfast or just coffee and a chat.

Morning Coffee : Bring your own mug and have a muffin with a group of new friends! (Currently Suspended)

Out for Lunch : Try different restaurants around the city once a month with others in the club!

Out to the Movies : An opportunity to see a new chick flick or whatever interests the group once a month and meet for coffee after the show to discuss the featured film. (Currently suspended)

Pins and Needles: Join a select group of women who enjoy knitting, crocheting, quilting, embroidery, etc. Meets twice per month. If you do not want to do needlework, you are welcome to come and chat.

Pot Luck Dinner Club : Bring an appetizer, a salad or an entree to a member's home once a month. The host will provide coffee or tea and usually soft drinks or water. It is also an opportunity for your spouse or partner to attend and meet with other couples - singles are also welcome to attend.

Scrap & Chat Scrapbooking : Beginners and experienced scrapbookers are invited to come and work on a project and share ideas with one another!

Unique Pubs of London : An opportunity to experience different pubs around the city with other members and their spouses or partners - singles are also welcome!

Walk and Talk : Meet three times a week for a brisk walk and conversation around the park!

Weekend Women : An opportunity for those busy through the week to get away for a day and explore venues around the London area.

Wines of the World : Bring an appetizer or a dessert and a bottle of themed wine - an opportunity to socialize and try a variety of wines. No previous wine experience required.

The above is by no means an exhaustive list of the activities as
the activities are constantly changing due to the needs of the club.


Activities normally run from September 1 to June 30 of each year except for
walking and golf which run over the months of July and August.
Some groups meet informally over the summer months if a few members have the interest and time 
such as Out to Lunch, Day-trippers or Out to a Movie - check your e-mail for details.

If you are interested in creating a new activity, please print off this form and submit it to the Executive for approval. 
In order to add another activity, it is necessary to have a convenor for the activity.
